Alfredo Sauce
Shopping List
- 4 tsp (20 mL) butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp (10 mL) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) heavy or whipping (35%) cream
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) 3.25% whole milk
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) black pepper
- 2/3 cup (70 g/150 mL) Kraft Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) finely chopped fresh chives or parsley

- In large skillet set over medium heat, melt butter. Cook garlic, stirring, for 30 to 60 seconds or until fragrant. Sprinkle with flour. Cook, stirring, for 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth.
- While whisking, slowly pour in cream and milk. Season with pepper. Continue to whisk and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring frequently, for 5 to 8 minutes or until sauce has thickened. Stir in Parmesan and chives.
For fettuccine Alfredo, cook 6 oz (175 g) fettuccine according to package directions. Reserve 2 tbsp (30 mL) pasta cooking liquid; drain fettuccine. Add fettuccine and pasta cooking liquid to skillet with Alfredo sauce. Toss until well coated. Serve with more Parmesan on top.
